Accessibility statement

Target level

We aim for level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, as set out in the European standard EN 301 549.

What has been done

• All text meets a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against its background; large headings at least 3:1.
• The entire site can be operated by keyboard alone, including the menu, the expandable questions and the eligibility check. Focus is visibly indicated.
• Every page starts with a ‘skip to main content’ link so you can bypass the menu.
• Headings follow a logical order (h1, h2, h3) without skipping levels, so a screen reader can convey the structure.
• Expandable components report their state through aria-expanded; the active menu page through aria-current.
• Images that carry information have a text alternative; decorative images are left empty so screen readers skip them.
• The site remains usable at 200% zoom and on screens from 320 pixels wide.
• Anyone who has asked their operating system to reduce motion sees no animations.
• Text is not embedded in images, so it can be enlarged and read aloud.

Known limitations

• Typefaces are loaded from an external service. On a slow connection, text may briefly appear in a different font.
• Videos have not yet been published. Once they are, they will carry subtitles and a text version.
• Links to third-party registers point to sites whose accessibility is outside our control.
